DianaZankowsky-smallWe are pleased to announce that Diana Zankowsky has been selected as the new TV/TC Midrasha principal. Diana joined the Midrasha team this past week. You will be hearing more from her as we gear up for the 2016-17 school year.

Diana is a long-time member of Congregation Shir Ami (Castro Valley) and has deep roots in the East Bay Jewish community. An accomplished teacher of older children and adults, she has experience teaching Jewish ethics and tzedakah, Jewish history and current events, and cultural expressions of Judaism. She has taught 5th and 7th grade at Temple Beth Abraham (Oakland), adult classes and the confirmation class at Congregation Shir Ami, and 3rd/4th grade and 5th-7th grade Hebrew at Congregation B’nai Shalom (Walnut Creek).

In a lay leadership role at Shir Ami, Diana has mentored student rabbis from HUC/JIR since 2001. This summer, she taught the art of Jewish cooking to rising 10th and 11th grade campers at Camp Newman’s Hagigah session. Diana is married to Fred Zankowsky and they have two grown children, David and Anastasia.

We are excited to have Diana at the helm of TV/TC Midrasha, and we encourage you to get to know her in the weeks and months ahead.
